Forget about reading from an eye-straining computer screen. With Talking WinEbook, Mary, Mike, Sam, Brutus, or Freddy (depending on the speech engine installed) will read to you. You don't like the way they pronounce a word? Talking WinEbook allows you to correct pronounciation.

The Freeware Viewer allows you to sample the Talking WinEbook. All you need is a SAPI compatible Text-to-Speech engine. Microsoft has several free engines at http://www.microsoft.com/iit ranging from 2mb to 8mb, or you can download the 8mb one from here. In addition to the Microsoft Text-to-Speech engine you will need spchapi.exe (828kb.). Click here to download it. Run spchapi.exe first and then install the Microsoft Text-to-Speech engine.
